Thank you for taking the time to volunteer with us to help EAP students with their assignments and questions on the EAP Program (English for Academic Purposes). To get familiar with the program you may visit the EAP Website at http://eapsupportlab.weebly.com. In order for me to pair you with a student needing help, I will need your email, Student Id, and available days/hours. At the same time, I can help you navigate the web, enhance your resume, apply for a scholarship, and I will be sharing job opportunities with you. You will receive a certificate of appreciation and a letter of reference with the hours that you have volunteered at the end of the term. The minimum number of hours in a term is 20 hours total, for a mini-term is 15 hours but there is no limit in the maximum amount of hours that you can complete.
In addition to volunteering with the EAP Ambassador Program, I encourage you to register with the iCED Service Learning Program. Example of EAP Ambassador Volunteer Introduction
Good Morning _____!
First let me introduce myself, I'm __________ and I will be your personal ambassador for your term at Miami Dade College! You can ask me any questions and I will try to help you in any way I can. I heard that you are a new student and you're about to do your orientation. On most occasions, people get nervous going to college because they feel like they will be lost, I will try for you to have a smooth transition and familiarize yourself with the school and the program. I also heard that you will be taking CGS1060C. It is Miami Dade's intro to computer program that teaches you about how to use the computer and the different Microsoft programs. It might be a little challenging, but if you already know how to use computers and the programs then it'll definitely be a breeze. If you want a recommendation for a professor, ___________ was my professor for CGS1060C and everyone in our class had so much fun because he makes the class more interesting than it should be. If you struggle with anything, please feel free to reach out to me through my email or my number. Have a good day and good luck!
Note: You will sign-in using ACCUDEMIA or documenting your activities, select a class and then opt for EAP Ambassador.
